What You Will Be Doing

This position is responsible for policy development and program management for the Vendor component of the State of Alaska's Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants & Children (WIC), and the Farmers Market Nutrition Program to ensure compliance with federal rules and regulations. Supervises the vendor section by being responsible for training, monitoring compliance and cost control for WIC-approved foods, fraud prevention/detection of vendors, providing technical assistance; and offering analysis, recommendations and support with mandatory reporting.

 

This position is located in Juneau, Alaska.  This position requires frequent travel to rural and urban areas of Alaska, and occasional travel outside of Alaska.

 

Preferred experience:  Professional and/or academic experience in food retail, food service, culinary arts, or the field of nutrition and dietetics; or certification as either a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
