WIC Clinic and Breastfeeding Coordinator / RD with the State of Alaska’s Family Nutrition Programs

What you will be doing?

Under the supervision of the Family Nutrition Programs Manager, the WIC Clinic and Breastfeeding Coordinator is responsible for program planning, initiation and evaluation of statewide WIC clinics to ensure culturally appropriate and effective operations and to ensure these results services are delivered to participants of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC). The primary focus of the position is the improvement of the health status of WIC participants through planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical operations. This is the lead position for State of Alaska breastfeeding promotion and support and oversight of the statewide Breastfeeding Peer Counseling program.


This position offers the capacity to work from your home within Alaska, in an office setting in your local district office or a hybrid of both work settings if you prefer.


At time of interview, if not attached to the application, applicant is requested to submit:

  1. Documentation of certification as a RD or RDN by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

  2. Documentation of certification as either an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) through the International Board of Lactation Examiners; or other advanced lactation training certification such as Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC), Certified Lactation Educator (CLE) or other equivalent lactation certification.
