Anchorage Bariatrics has grown into the premier center for Alaskans seeking surgical and non-surgical weight loss options. With this growth comes opportunity, and we are looking to add another part-time/full-time dietitian to evaluate and counsel our surgical and non-surgical patients as well as provide valuable input in our Program’s continued growth and innovation.


Seeking a registered dietitian to guide and educate patients on changes they can make to their eating lifestyle and relationship with food that will allow them to meet their short/long term goals. This includes education of pre/post-surgery diet plans in addition to non-surgical weight loss programs.


Full- or part-time position available.


General Job Duties:

New patient (surgical or weight management) assessment and evaluation.

Patient follow-up for adherence to diet/exercise recommendations and to establish new goals.

Pre- and post-bariatric surgery education.

Moderate bi-weekly support groups when necessary.

Review labs when necessary, make recommendations regarding supplementation, and either call the patient directly or assign that duty to one of the MA's.

Answer patient telephone communication requests when necessary.

Answer patient emails when necessary.

Answer staff questions regarding pre and post-bariatric surgery diet or labs/recommendations when necessary.

Collaborate with other RD’s to update, improve, and create patient education material as necessary.

Inventory the bariatric vitamins we carry in the office weekly and re-order as needed. Utilize telehealth services where appropriate.

Maintain timely documentation of patient encounters Experience/Certification


Requirements:

Experience with bariatric patients is preferred but not required.

Licensed Registered Dietitian in the state of Alaska in good standing.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Working with a multidisciplinary team including three bariatric surgeons, one medical weight loss physician, three physician assistants, two part-time psychologists, and two dietitians Working with motivated patients! All overhead covered including workspace, computers, charting software, admin staff, all patients and billing services provided Competitive Pay Health coverage, 401K, and a quarterly productivity bonus for full-time Regular hours (8 am-5 pm); Paid vacation for full-time. No call, no weekends.
